Since I am studying music I searched and followed some magazine that talk about what song are in and pop culture. Also there is one about Jazz and drums, which is my favorite instrument and the one I am currently learning how to play. This is very useful because in the future I’m gonna be working in this area so I need to be informed.

Here are some of the magazines that are in my feedly.

Here is the other Feed I made. This one is mainly of books because I love to read and want to know whats coming next in the world of literature.

Things I am interested:

Even though this is more opened to different topics, I followed the feed that has to do with literature, where they have book reviews in the world of fiction.

This is the place where you can find anything and everything about books in every genre.

In The New York Times there is a section for books, where you’ll find reviews and the best books.

This is a platform for all the book lovers where you can find ratings to so many books, reviews and opinions, you can also interact with other book lovers.

Last but not least, BuzzFeed, this platform has always been my favorite. You can find so many things in here, news, gifts, videos, quizzes, trends and so many other things.

“Yesterday, all my troubles seem so far away”

Thanks to you I bought my first book of poems, all because I wanted to seem interesting, read 47 pages of the book, sadly didn’t understand most of them, because its not like reading a novel.

Thanks to you I have found a new meaning to romantic songs, I learned how awkward is liking someone and that someone liking you back.

Thanks to you I met uncertainty.

Thanks to you those three weeks became my firsts of many things. My first date, first kiss, first holding hands, first person to look at me the way you did, first goodbye or see you soon. Never understood what happened or how it happened, it started and ended so fast.

Maybe that’s why its so perfect. I’ll never know you like I should. The image I made of you will stay the same.

Thank you

It was nice meeting you.

The benefits of reading

Reading is an amazing thing and thanks to it I have gained many benefits. You see my first language is Spanish, but I love to read in English. Thanks to this my memory is better and I have learned new words that have helped me express myself.

It has helped a lot with the stress and with empathy. Reading is seeing another persons life, fiction or real, and getting to know them. I love it and wanted to share a presentation of some of the benefits.

You can find this presentation using this link https://bit.ly/2CsHqvo in Slide Share.

BLOOD OATH (Darkest Drae, #1) by Raye Wagner and Kelly St. Clare

WARNING: May contain spoilers!

So I just finished Blood Oath and I have a lot of thing to say. Are they good or are they bad? Well keep reading and you’ll find out.

[Source: From Giphy, Titled: jim carry ok]
You know when you just finished an amazing book and you are desperate searching for another good one that’s gonna leave you speechless and in love with the characters and the story. Well the search of that amazing book led me to this one. Mainly because I got tired of reading different samples that didn’t piqued my interest and having this one on my kindle for sometime now, I decided to give it a shot. BOOM, bought the book without having finished the sample and found one of my new favorite books. Right now I’m reading the second one Shadow Wings because I can’t get enough.

It’s a dark story and the beginning is a hard one because of the torture and at first it took me sometime to get used to the writing, but once you do, man it’s so freaking hard to put the book down. The world the authors, Raye Wagner and Kelly St. Clare , created it’s like a dystopian vibe with Kings, dragons and magic.  I recommend this book to people that love dark, fantasy, young adult, romance, paranormal with dragons and a little bit of political games.

I just wanna let you know that I was not expecting the end, it left me speechless and with a little of a love-hate feeling toward the male protagonist, and also its one of the reasons I bought the next book. For me that’s a big deal, because I prefer to read stand alone novels. I don’t know why but I get tired of reading a whole series, it also happens with TV shows, and the only way that I read them is by reading a different book before getting back to the series, but with this one I went straight to the second one.

I think you should check it out, I’m in love with it and want to know what happens next.

The first book I read without being told to do so.

Since I was a little girl I loved to read. Stories were my everything, I would spend hours with a book in hand. Instead of playing with dolls or my toy horses like a regular kid, you would find me curled up in a corner with a good book. My teachers loved me, I was so calmed and well read. It was too good to be true, way too good, too good for it to be true. Because it isn’t true. Oh how I wish to have been in love with books since I was child.

Sorry! 🙂 But sadly I hated to read anything.

[Source: By:@kimmyschmidt From: Giphy]

To read my mom would try to bribe me with money and still I wouldn’t pick up the books she’d buy for me. I don’t know why but every time I tried I would fall asleep. I was a child full of energy and the thought of holding a book for hours was very exhausting. The only person at the time that would read for fun was my older sister, and you know how  children imitate someone in the family, well she was my role model but I still wouldn’t pick the same habit.

I had a lot of books full of adventures, strong women and horses. Why horses? you may ask. It’s my favorite animal and almost all of the books had pictures in them, so instead of reading it was more of admiring the images of those majestic animals.

[Source: By, Reddit. From: GIPHY]

But the other books, the ones that didn’t have pictures, would get hidden in my closet. Out of sight, out of mind.

Okay, so lets keep in mind that my favorite animal is the horse. In my school every year they would always make a book fair in which you could either buy the books that where there or order them from the catalog they had. I would always look for the ones that had horses in the covers, because in my mind if the book talked about horses the animal that I loved, I would somehow love to read. Almost all of the books I got where of horses, all in Spanish except War Horse. The first book I read. The motivation was, that the movie was coming out soon and, since I was a horse freak, I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie, and I did. I loved it. The book is amazing the story is so captivating and the way its written is lovely.

During that year I learned two things:

  1. I prefer to read in English
  2. Horses can’t make you love a story, only the way its written and the story can make you love a book.

So I was in the zone, I read a book, my mom didn’t even tried to bribe me and sadly I didn’t get any money. What now? My mom was happy and my sister started to tell me about other books with magic, werewolf, vampire and elves, etc, and I was captivated.  She showed The Dark Divine and I fell in love with the book. I ended up reading the whole series before my sister. That’s how I became obsessed with reading and since then I haven’t stopped. Now my sister and I share and discuss books and my mom gets mad at me for having to many books. Be careful what you wish for.
